Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

Using an Applicant Tracking System

For many businesses, large or small, using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is a crucial part of how they manage their recruitment process. An ATS helps streamline what could otherwise be a time-consuming, labour-intensive, manual process by collecting and organising job applicants’ information digitally and automatically.

The information an ATS contains will typically be used for everything from sifting applications and scheduling interviews through to running applicant testing and making job offers.

Even in a small business recruiting for just a handful of vacancies per year, using an ATS can help save valuable HR time and money as candidates work their way through the recruitment process.

For far larger businesses, the efficiencies and savings it generates can be even more significant. There’s a benefit for the candidates too; able to upload, review and customise their personal information at the click of a button.

With so much of the process automated in this fashion, it stands to reason that employers also want to integrate their background screening into the same system.

After all, directing candidates outside of their ATS – to a separate system where personal information has to be resubmitted, generating screening results that have to be manually inputted back into the ATS – could be counter-productive.

Direct integration

That’s why we’ve invested in creating our own Application Programming Interface (API) – to ensure that our systems can be integrated directly into a client’s ATS.

An API is a set of programming instructions, standards and tools for accessing one system from another. It’s what allows a client ATS to exchange information with, and request services from, the Verifile platform.

In turn, this provides immediate access to our full portfolio of more than 600 different background checks worldwide, all in one seamless candidate experience.

As far as the candidate is aware, the whole process of application, recruitment and screening is happening in the same place, while the employer benefits from having a single, smooth, automated process managing their recruitment process from end to end.

Currently, there are several major ATS providers (listed below) using the Verifile API through whom you’ll immediately be able to incorporate Verifile background screening into your recruitment processes.

Even if you’re not working with one of those providers (if you operate a bespoke ATS of your own for example), you can still use our API to link your system directly to ours.

We’re always looking to integrate directly with more ATS providers. Therefore, if you’re an ATS provider yourself, keen to augment your own product offering with potential access to an extensive background screening service, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

Likewise, if you’re an employer looking to use our services but who’s working with an ATS provider that hasn’t yet integrated with Verifile, feel free to encourage your provider to get in touch with us. We won’t mind if they give us a call.
