What does it check?
This service assists an individual in obtaining their Spanish Criminal Record Certificate as well as validates it.
This check provides what is referred to as a Certificate of Convictions or Certificado de Antecedentes Penales.
In Spain, the Criminal Record Certificate can be requested only by the individual and not by a third party (Subject Access Request). We'll guide and assist the individual in making a Subject Access Request (SAR) for the certificate and then validate it.
The certificate contains the following information:
• Full name
• Date of application
• Place of birth
• Date of birth
• Identity number
• Criminal history of the individual (if applicable)
All categories of criminal convictions are listed on the criminal record certificate. Expired convictions will also appear unless the subject has requested the cancellation of these.
Expiry periods vary according to the type of punishment and range from between 6 months (for minor offences) to 5 years (for serious offences) provided no further offence has been committed.
