What does it check?

This check establishes if an individual has a criminal record.

This check provides what is referred to as Certificate of Conduct or Führungszeugnis.

This check is offered to individuals residing outside Germany. For individuals residing in Germany, we'll guide and assist the individual in making a Subject Access Request (SAR) for the certificate and then validate it.

Information on the certificate includes (if applicable):
• Conviction
• Date of conviction
• Court
• Reference
• Criminal Act
• Type of punishment (imprisonment or fine)

The main categories of criminal conviction listed on a criminal record certificate are:
• Violence against the person (Körperverletzung)
• Sexual offences (Sexualstraftaten)
• Burglary (Diebstahl/Einbruch)
• Robbery (Raub)
• Theft and handling of stolen goods (Hehlerei)
• Fraud and forgery (Betrug und Fälschung)
• Criminal damage (Sachbeschädigung)
• Drug offences (Drogenstraftaten)
• Motoring offences (Verkehrsstraftaten)

Judgments will be removed from a criminal record after 5, 10, 15 or 20 years dependent on the crime, if no recent convictions have been added; or at the age of 90.

Once a conviction has been removed, the relevant entry in the Central Criminal Registry will be removed within one year and the conviction will cease to appear on the criminal record disclosure documents.

The following convictions are never removed:
