How to Verify Employment or Income

WorkPass has automated the process for obtaining references. There is no need any more to send manual requests and wait days or even weeks for the reference to come back.  Instead, WorkPass allows you to search the database online and retrieve your reference within seconds. We provide WorkPass on a regular basis with an updated file with details of all our staff, current and past. Therefore the information they hold on our database is up to date.

Please follow the instructions below to obtain instantly the information you need on our employees.

If you have never used WorkPass before, setup an online account first:
  1. Go to
  2. Click on ‘Register Here’ on the right hand side
  3. Register your details
  4. WorkPass will contact you within 48 hours to set up your online account
  5.  Once your account is ready, you can obtain employment and income information on our current and past employees using one of the options below.
  6. Please note that you can only use WorkPass with the explicit consent of the employee.
To obtain proof of employment only (Basic Reference)
  1. Go to
  2. Enter your user name and password and click on the ‘Login’ button
  3. Follow the prompted instructions
  4. You will need the National Insurance Number of the employee.

This Basic Reference includes the employee's name and date of birth, dates of their employment, their job title and reason for leaving where applicable. The main purpose of this reference is to verify employment with Verifile Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries. If you require more information on the employee such as their income please request the Detailed Reference.

To obtain proof of employment plus income (Detailed Reference)
  1. Go to
  2. Put your user name and password and click on the ‘Login’ button
  3. Follow the prompted instructions
  4. You will need the following information from the employee:
  • National Insurance Number
  • A special Consent Code (Employees can get a Consent Code by visiting their free account on or calling +44 (0) 1234 339333).

This detailed reference may include the employee's name, job title, dates of employment, payroll details, the reasons for leaving and any related information we are willing to share with third party organisations.

We do our best to answer requests for detailed references within 5 days however as these references require manual investigation they can take longer at times.
