Verifile’s API has been included in API World’s first API 300, a showcase of the top innovations in the API industry over the past year.

API World selected the companies through an interview and evaluation process based on several factors, including data from the companies and industry research.

The API 300 list focuses on API technologies including API infrastructure, API management, and API analytics. We launched the Verifile Global API in late 2017 and now circa 30% of Verifile’s orders come through our API.

It offers access to over 650 different background checks worldwide and the option to set up packages for easier deployment.

An API integration between your system such as an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) can avoid the need for your team members to log into the Verifile system in addition to your ATS, eliminating manual tasks, speeding up processing times and avoiding errors associated with manual data entry.

Currently, TribePad, Harbour, Workday, and eArcu have integrated with our API. Many other clients using other systems have also integrated using our global API – any client can take advantage of these capabilities.

Verifile has once again proven its relentless commitment to achieving and attaining the highest industry standards, bypassing the first round of audits for ISO 22301: Business Continuity Management Systems.

We also passed and were re-certified for Information Security (ISO 27001), Quality Management (ISO 9001), and Environmental Management (ISO 14001), which we have held since 2013.

Visiting late last month ISO auditors looked at our business continuity procedures and disaster recovery to ascertain how we’d continue to operate should an unexpected incident impact our location, communications systems, or staff.

ISO 22301 will be a new accreditation for us and passing this 1st stage audit means we can now progress to the 2nd stage in December.

All being well, we’ll soon be able to add this latest ISO accreditation to our already impressive list of industry accreditations and certifications.

Later this month we’ll also face our usual external audit by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) for NSI Gold (BS7858).

The NSI certification scheme, of which Verifile holds its Gold level, looks at a screening company’s compliance with industry standards including BS7858 in screening employees working in a secure environment. We have held this certification since January 2018.

Verifile’s Business Support Manager, Leanne Carmedy, said: “There is no legal requirement for us to hold these accreditations.

"But, achieving these UKAS accredited and internationally recognised standards proves our commitment to data security and quality of the highest level.”

We are pleased to tell you that, from tomorrow (1 Oct), Verifile is reducing the cost of its DBS screening services, saving our clients up to £4 on each individual DBS check.

The reduction in price is due to new pricing legislation for DBS checks, which was passed in Parliament this summer, and we’re gladly passing that saving onto you in full.

The savings for each type of DBS check are as follows:

The £13 fee for clients using the Update Service directly with the DBS will remain the same. Standard and Enhanced DBS checks for volunteers will continue to be exempt from the DBS fee.

Current clients of Verifile will have these savings automatically applied to their accounts from 1 October.
