Message from our CEO

It’s now been 15 years since I created Verifile. A lot has happened in that time; a lot has changed.

Some things haven’t changed though – and we’ve known for a while that our current image needed a bit of work, shall we say. Trouble is, we’ve been pretty busy.

We’ve been focused on providing exceptional levels of customer service, developing meaningful client relationships and delivering high quality, accurate data. We’ve been somewhat preoccupied with adding new, reliable data sources to our already sizable portfolio and securing new accreditations in everything from security screening to information security.

When we paused to look in the mirror though, what we saw – in terms of our brand image, website and visual identity – didn’t reflect the modern, technology-driven business that we’d become. So, we decided it was time for a change.

Over the past 12 months, we’ve created a new visual identity for ourselves. The new, more modern Verifile look will soon be apparent across everything from our company literature and signage through to our email signatures and, of course, our website.

We’ve also taken the opportunity to sharpen up our brand, the articulation of our value proposition and the values we stand for. The results of our work will be there for all to see by mid-April when the new website arrives. As we continue to grow rapidly, these are exciting times for all of us at Verifile.

We hope you like what you see.

Yours sincerely

Eyal Ben Cohen
CEO

Fake university degrees website under investigation

The BBC reports how a website in China is selling fake degree certificates from many UK universities.  It follows an investigation by BBC Radio Kent which found the certificates for sale on the internet for £500.

The Higher Education Degree Datacheck (HEDD) said it hoped Chinese authorities would shut the site.

The website, investigated in December, said the fake degree certificates were for "novelty purposes, or as a replacement for lost diplomas".

HEDD spokeswoman Jane Rowley said it had discovered the Chinese website offered fake certificates for universities in China and the US as well as the UK. "They are breaking the law in a number of countries," she said."We have been in contact with colleagues at the Ministry of Education in China to ask if they are able to act". She added that degree fraud damaged the reputation of higher education institutions.

"Graduates are graduating with debts of over £40,000," she said "We want to protect our young graduates in the workplace to make sure they are not being denied opportunities to work by people who have not done the work or made that kind of financial investment."
