What does it check?

This service assists an individual who will be working in security-related roles in obtaining their Norwegian Criminal Record Certificate as well as validates it.

This check provides what is referred to as Exhaustive and Extended Certificate or Uttømmende og utvidet. A criminal record certificate shows what has been recorded about an individual in police registers. In Norway, the Criminal Record Certificate can be requested only by the individual and not by a third party (Subject Access Request). We'll guide and assist the individual in making a Subject Access Request (SAR) for the certificate and then validate it. In Norway, there are five types of criminal record certificates: Ordinary (Ordinær): available for roles in the financial services industry, railway companies and airlines. Limited (Begrenset): available for roles in pharmacies, pharmaceuticals, health and social care services and the post. Exhaustive (Uttømmende): available for airside roles in airports Exhaustive and extended (Uttømmende og utvidet): available for security-related roles such as security guards, installers of alarm systems, infosec and those working and managing security businesses. Childcare Certificate (Barneomsorgsattest): available for roles involved children including healthcare, social services, education and more but also to roles involved vulnerable adults such as volunteering organisations, health and social care related to handicapped persons, asylum seekers, and victims of rape. An exhaustive and expanded criminal record certificate shows details of criminal cases that have not yet been finally decided by the police or the courts. This means that the certificate will contain details of criminal charges, indictments and penalty notices, as well as convictions that are still under appeal. Allegations of criminal activity reported to the police and cases that the police have decided not to investigate are not included in a criminal record certificate.
