What does it check?

This service assists Malaysian citizens in obtaining their Malaysian Criminal Record Certificate as well as validates it.

This check - which provides what is referred to as a Certificate of Good Conduct or Sijil Kelakuan Baik - is for Malaysian citizens only. In Malaysia, citizens must request the Criminal Record Certificate themselves and not through a third party (Subject Access Request). We'll guide and assist the individual in making a Subject Access Request (SAR) for the certificate and validate it. For foreign nationals, we can obtain the certificate directly ourselves. The certificate does not provide information about an individual’s full criminal record but only states whether an individual has any identifiable records. Registrable offences include: • Violence against the person (Darihal kesalahan terhadap tubuh manusia) • Sexual offences (Kesalahan-kesalahan mengenai tubuh manusia); • Burglary (Pecah Rumah) • Robbery (Rompak) • Theft and handling ofstolen goods (Mencuri dan Menerima Harta Curi dengan Curang) • Fraud and forgery (Penipuan dan Pemalsuan) • Criminal damage (Khianat) • Drug offences (Kesalahan Dadah) • Motoring offences (Kesalahan Lalulintas) For Malaysian nationals, the certificates are issued based on a statutory declaration submitted by the individual stating that they do not have a criminal record. The certificate is issued and the records are subsequently checked to confirm the statutory declaration is truthful. The records are generally checked within 30 days of the certificate being issued. Individuals are liable for prosecution by the police if they are found to have provided incorrect information on the statutory declaration.
