What does it check?

We’ll check whether an individual has a criminal record by searching a variety of governmental and private sources.

Court and government records date back to 2004 while some public data may date as far back as 30 years. For any matches found, the returned information will include case details, including the type of crime committed and the date it was reported, as well as any other details available about the case.

Japanese legislation prevents third parties and even the subject themselves from obtaining a criminal record certificate for employment purposes. Such information can only be released by the Japanese Police under a court order or at the request of a foreign embassy for immigration purposes. This product uses the most comprehensive alternative search method currently available in Japan.
