What does it check?
This service assists an individual who will be working in certain industries in obtaining their Norwegian Criminal Record Certificate as well as validates it.
This check provides what is referred to as Limited Certificate or Begrenset. A criminal record certificate shows what has been recorded about an individual in police registers. In Norway, the Criminal Record Certificate can be requested only by the individual and not by a third party (Subject Access Request). We'll guide and assist the individual in making a Subject Access Request (SAR) for the certificate and then validate it. In Norway, there are five types of criminal record certificates: Ordinary (Ordinær): available for roles in the financial services industry, railway companies and airlines. Limited (Begrenset): available for roles in pharmacies, pharmaceuticals, health and social care services and the post. Exhaustive (Uttømmende): available for airside roles in airports Exhaustive and extended (Uttømmende og utvidet): available for security-related roles such as security guards, installers of alarm systems, infosec and those working and managing security businesses. Childcare Certificate (Barneomsorgsattest): available for roles involved children including healthcare, social services, education and more but also to roles involved vulnerable adults such as volunteering organisations, health and social care related to handicapped persons, asylum seekers, and victims of rape. A limited criminal record certificate includes only certain types of criminal offences. It is the certificate's purpose and the legal authority on which it rests that decides what types of offences may be shown. A limited criminal record certificate may be both exhaustive and expanded, or it can be ordinary – or a combination of all three.
